861 Powermaster Lug Nuts

Wondering if anyone can tell me what color the lug nuts were on a 1958 861 powermaster from the factory. I currently have my
tires of to repair / replace rims and I noticed that the lugs were gray but had red paint under the gray. Thanks for any
information.

I don't believe they were painted. I'm thinking cadmium coated. Maybe someone that knows will give you a more definite answer.

They were exactly the same color as the ones that you will get when you order some new ones: cadmium plated. And paint your starter red like it was when it left the factory.
