So my cam advance screw broke on me and so now I m on the hunt for a new one. Does anyone have any part numbers or where to get one? Local NH dealer can t get them. I ve read somewhere that a regular hex head bolt would work as well but I m unsure of that one. Help me! I m trying to get it back together and that s the only thing holding me up. Pump is a DBGVCC429-8AJ off a 1959 Ford 871D. Thanks!!

Hard to give good advice not knowing where you're located. Any diesel injection shop should have it. I know Midwest Diesel @Beemer, NE would have it. So would St Joe Diesel @ St. Joe, MO or Diesel & Turbo, Topeka , KS.

(quoted from post at 19:05:40 10/30/19) The Bristol screw is 15438 if I recall, it's been replaced by a new Torx screw. Don't recall the number right now..

Well based on your post I managed to find the numbers I needed to get the torx bit version of the cam advance screw. Pricey little bugger. Got the solid weight cage at the same time. Have you heard of anyone running just a regular hex head bolt in there?

The early CAV DPA pumps used a hex bolt, but it had a ball top above the hex. Stanadyne/RoosaMaster early pumps used a ball screw with allen wrench top. I still see some pumps in for repair with that screw, usually on pumps with bolt on advance..

I just snapped the head of cam advance bolt on my pump. It was the newer torx 45 head on a DB2 pump. Any advice on removing it from pump?

Your adding to a post that 3 years old, most of the ones you need to see this use classic view and will never search back that far to read it
Classic does not bring a new post up to the top like modern view does
I recommend you start a new thread in the Ford section to get the answer you need
