Archive search?

A few years ago I used this site to help with problems with my 4500 and it was very helpful. If I remember correctly there was a search function for the archives so I could research a problem before posting for help. I can't seem to find how to search the archives by subject. Am I just not seeing it?
Thanks, Jim.

If you're viewing in "Classic View" you won't see the link for the search feature. You need to click on the link near the top right of the page that says "Modern View" to see it.

You sure can find the ARCHIVES in Classic View. Look on the YT Home Page, under the red menu bar, brackets listed in blue with options, and it's there along with the Modern View option. The problem with the archives is they are NOT listed chronologically so when you plug in a key word like 'Ford 9N Generator' you will get dates all over the place for that topic. It takes a lot of patience and time to scroll thru the list to find something you might have remembered and need to refresh. Me personally, hate the Modern View; I don't see it as a better format - and I don't use it.

I have found that Google advanced search works better than YT's search.
Type in either the keywords you are looking for on the top line or the exact phrase you are looking for on the second line. (Either/or - not both)
Then scroll down to where it says site or domain and type in www.yesterdaystractors.com
Then scroll down and click advanced search.
It seems to work better to use www.yesterdaystractors.com and not www.ytmag.com
Try it.

Sorry, I never go to the home page.I have bookmarks saved that take me directly to the particular forums that I'm interested in. The Search feature is available on every page in Modern View, even when viewing individual message threads. I assumed that if it was available in Classic View that it would be available on most pages as well I never though to look at the home page, so I just looked around and it is not actually on the YT Home Page. As far as I can see, it is only on the Forums main page that lets you select which forum you want to visit.
