Sparex head gasket doesn't fit Ford 3000 diesel

I orderd the Sparex head gasket kit from Yesterday's tractor and went to install it today and it won't fit over the dowel pins in the block. Has any else had this issue? The holes are too small and look to be too close together causing the gasket to blow up when you align it with the dowel pins.
 
Yep i had the same problem a while back replacing the head gasket on my 3000. I took my dremel tool with a small circular sand drum and reamed out the holes so they would fit over the dowels. good ole aftermarket Sparex parts
 

Ran into the same problem with sparex for the 172 engine, but with the pushrod holes. Didn't feel like fighting it, so picked up a Felpro gasket which fit perfectly. Suspect Chinese metric to inch and round to one # after decimal point.
 
When I was a parts manager we took on Sparex because they had some items that nobody else seemed to have. Like all aftermarket parts suppliers,
some of the stuff is great, some is junk. What I didn?t like was they didn?t stand behind the junk. I got 3 sets of tailored plug wires for 3 cylinder Fords.
Had the correct size boots and everything. Sold two sets and they both came back immediately because they raced through the insulation. One of the
sets was right in our own shop.
Wouldn?t issue credit, accept returns or take any responsibility. Ended up throwing all 3 sets in the trash and eating the cost.
 
Hi folks, last year I restored a 1962 Dexta for my wife and bought a Sparex nose
cone and bonnet. The nose cone fitted perfect but the bonnet was the wrong shape and
over one inch short on the left hand side and other Sparex parts did not fit well
either. The tractor is going to a large tractor show here in the UK next month with
a large notice on the bonnet saying do not buy parts from Sparex. MJ
