Ford 1954 NAA Need Parts Available for Sherman 2-speed Trans

We have a 1954 Ford NAA tractor with a problem Sherman 2-speed transmission apparently installed originally. This Sherman slips out of gear driving in hi-range and the shift handle has to be held in place manually. Otherwise works well so the Sherman's gears feel excellent condition. I find question in reading information whether this would be the same Sherman as in the earlier 6N/9N transmissions or would be the same Sherman as in the later Ford 600 or later tractors. Can anyone confirm information of which Sherman was used in the NAA, have any information about how to cure it from jumping out of high range or where any parts might be available, particularly for new gaskets and seals? Appreciate any information you might share.

The one in a NAA would be the same as one found in an 8n. Your problem is typical of a worn detente ball or broken spring. Have you tried Just 8N's and More? If they don't have them, you could probably find the balls in a good hardware store or try a transmission shop or 4 wheel drive shop in your area.

Kinda wandering if this is maybe a cable shifted Sherman converted to a handle shifted. The cable shifted from the factory did not have a dent holding it in gear.
Do you feel a distinct shift when in either standard, neutral, or overdrive?

Tractor is a ways from our house so had to get over to it. Took a couple of pictures of the handle at its installed location on the NAA. You might notice that I converted to later Power Steering, hence the hoses. It appears to be pretty much the same handle as is the red handle in your picture. Hope this helps.

I don't think there is any kind of cable involved in this Sherman shift mechanism. It is not running right now so I'm going more by memory, but it kind of clicks up and down shifting between low and high range. It just jumps back out of high range when you try to drive in high range and the shift handle has to be held in high position by hand.
