Normally I break something every time I get onto my tractor, and in the past had broken the lower link arm retainer catch lever assembly (can't quite remember how). Link arms still worked but it was awkward to move the catch out of the way when changing implements on the rear.
An internet search indicated I could buy new weld on hooks, but they were quite expensive and I'd need to cut the old one off and weld the new one on - beyond my capability, frankly, so I'd have to pay someone to do it.
Fortunately, I noticed, one I took the hooks apart, that the bit that had snapped was about the same size as an M12 bolt, so with my stick welder and angle grinder, I managed to cobble together a fix - very pleased with myself, even though my welding is awful!
