My fixes and finds for my 3000 loader are getting into an area, that I don't have the smarts to fix.
Need some input on what I found yesterday!!!
Lft. cyl on the bucket, was leaking a little when I bought the 3000.
The leak got a lot worse after putting the tractor in my shop. Over-night it leaked aprrox. 2 pints of hydro. fluid onto the cement floor!!!

Heres a couple of pix, as to what I found on the end of the bucket cyl!!!
Loose end cap.....and this wire partially stuck in the groove on the cap!!!

Can anyone enlighten me on this problem?????
I'm suspecting that wire is what is supposed to hold the cap tight against the gasket on the INSIDE of the cyl. tube.????
Wire broke and worked it's way out of the groove??????

TIA for any info on this!!!

Yes that wire holds gland in. Its almost long enough to work. Need to pull gland out and replace oring on gland. Donot have to totally disamble cyl. Pull pin out of eye and oring will stretch over all parts.

Thanks for the info.
THEN, not knowing what is inside the tube, that I might screw up in there......I think I'm going to wait till Monday, and take the 3000 down to a shop that knows what they are doing.
I have the 772 loader manual, but it does not have any break-down of the inside workings of this cyl.
Can't afford to mess this cyl. up.
Not the smartest cookie for fixing this kind of stuff!!!!

Thanks again Shaun!!!

If going to drive somewhere tie bucket so wont extend because weight of bucket will pull gland out and dump oil on rod end.

Good advice!!!
In that case Ill just take the cyl off the tractor, and take that to him!!! 8)

TANKS LOTS!!

Shaun Wallace;
I finally got time to pull that leaker cyl. off the 3000, and got it down to the shop here in town. The mech. that runs the shop took a look at it real quick and said he will be going to the big city...(Missoula) for parts tomorrow afternoon!!
He said he thought the same as you on not having to dismantle the whole cyl. , but is going to get a couple of seals that will replace the ones that broken spring usually/ or can damage.
Be a couple of days.......then back to work for the 3000!

Thanks again for the info!!! Learn something new, on this tractor every day!!!
