I am not much of a diesel mechanic so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I recently purchased an F5500 tractor which is seized from sitting a few years. I am having trouble removing the injectors they will not come out. Any advice or tips on how to remove them would be appreciated. Thanks Harry

I'm a carpenter so have a couple of
cat's paw nail pullers and have used
those. I dug the cork seal away from
around the injector and used penetrating
oil first.

One or two pry bars will usually get it done. In extreme cases, you'll need to rotate the injector first by
taking a large punch and hammer and using it to turn the injector by putting the punch tip inside one of the
mounting holes. Rotate back and forth as needed to allow you to be able to break the rust loose and pry it
out. Note that if you resort to using this method, that you'll likely break the seal loose on the injector
body halves. This is easily fixed by retorquing the parts back together.
