Not mine, etc.

Did Ford ever make an Elenco 4500 Industrial 4x4 tractor, or is this a Franken tractor?

Seller says it works in 2 wheel drive and that he has a driveshaft for the 4x4 somewhere.
4500 4x4

I don't know anything about them - who did the conversion or what parts they used, etc.
I doubt it was Ford as it was around 10 years after the 4500s ended that they started putting FWA on those style industrials. I parted out a 4600 last year and the guy who bought the stuck engine from it said he has two of them. IIRC one was a TL the other a TLB. The engine in one of them is pretty tired so he bought mine to rebuild as time permits and will swap it in.
Also, about 4 or 5 years ago when I built up a 4400 Tony Jacobs weighed in and said he had a complete FWA axle/drive train that would fit my tractor so I know they're out there. It would have to be pretty heavy duty as the front end on a 4500 is very stout.
Much heavier than the Power Wagon axle they used on the Prior ag models.
Reminds me that the guy who bought my engine owes me the intake manifold off his 4500 engine when he gets it out. I should contact him one of these days as I will need it soon.

Sure looks like a Powerwagon front wheel in the picures to me. I remember seeing a brochure on Ebay years back for a similar tractor, but seems like it had the name Daco instead of Elenco on it. Hopefully Tony Jacobs will see this post and chime in. As Ultradog said, Ford never did this style conversion, but did have their own eventually.

The ad says this:

We never had the driveshaft put on to make it 4 wheel but its an easy fix. I do have the driveshaft but need to find it,

Sounds like someone started to do a 4wd conversion but never finished. Doesn't look like there's enough space for the drive shaft with the loader frame there, but maybe it would go low enough to clear that.

Hello UPFord , Yes they did make 4500 Elenco 4x4 kits , the 4400 and the 4500 kits did not sell very well so there not many around , transfer cases are noted for breaking main shafts I have replaced them on just about every one that I have worked on . Very cool non the less . Thanks Tony
