600 hood mount

I am about to install a new set of sheet metal on a 620 ln a 620 Sherman forklift tractor. There are two sets of holes in the front axel support to attach the hood. Which set, upper or lower should I use to mount the hood? Thanks.

If the fuel tank, dash and steering gear are original, then the bottom holes should be used on the 600 series. The top holes are used on the 800 series ,with the larger tank dash etc.

Are you using the original dash panel from your 620? If yes, then like Wayne said, use the lower holes. If you are also relpacing the dash panel, check the location of the hole for the steering shaft. A 600/601 dash panel steering shaft hole is further away from the edge of the panel. An 800/801 dash panel steering shaft hole is close to the edge of the panel. This difference is due to the steering shaft being on an angle, so when the hood sheetmetal is mounted higher, the hole in the dash panel has to get closer to the edge. The hood sheetmetal is physically the same, the dash panel determines which height the hood sheetmetal has to be mounted at.
