Thermostart reservoir line

The nut on the thermostart reservoir line on my 66 3000 cracked and busted while tightening it up. This model has the actual reservoir for the thermostart and not a T in the fuel line and also feeds the return to the tank. If I were to cap these lines off temporarily until I find a replacement line (no longer in production) would it effect the operation of the fuel system? It s still 98 degrees here in NW NC and I m planning on putting a heater on the tractor when it does get cold so the thermostart wouldn t be much of an issue unless it snows. Just wanted to get some opinions before I did this.

Well my local NAPA had the pieces I needed to fix the homemade line grandpa had made for this line. So crisis averted. But if I ever need to fix again I ll take these suggestions!
