1966 Ford 2000 3 cyl diesel exhaust stack info

I replaced exhaust manifold extention pipe and muffler
Once installed the muffler to pipe clamp has to be installed
under the hood is it the original configuration ?

The new manifolsd is aftermarket does the extention pipe supposed to fit snug
in the manifold (kind of taper) there is an exhaut leak there.Any way to
seal it ?

Yes, muffler clamp went under hood. The extension should fit snug in manifold. Should be notch in manifold with matching tab on pipe that line up to keep from turning.

Thank you Shaun for your reply greatly appreciated.

I cannot compare to the manifold i removed because the previous owner welded a steel pipe
on it and the weld failed.

There is a notch in the manifold and a tab in the pipe but the pipe has little loose
and there is an exhaust leak. It is a new after market manifold which have few defects
I think the dimentions are little different compared to the original.
I will try to find some heat resistant packing to put under the bell shaped part
of the pipe to stop leaks.
