My father spent a few years restoring/rebuilding an 801. Now I am trying to finish the job and get the machine completely functional. Main problem is that the lift arm assembly original to the tractor would not move at all. I removed the lift arms and found broken springs and much general yuckiness under there. In an attempt to expadite things I swapped-in a lift arm assembly from a parts tractor that dad had (not knowing if this system was operational or not). This set also did not work, so I swapped the parts tractor pump as well : now the lift arms go up very slowly when the engine is running, regardless of control lever position. Huh. Next I swapped-in the control arm assembly from the completely functional 871 that dad had. Same deal : control arms raise slowly regardless of control lever input. Next, to try one last thing, I also swapped-in the 871s' hydraulic pump (along with its' control arm assembly). Again, same result. So the 871 system works fine on the 871 but not-so on the 801. Whatintarnation... The hydraulic lines going from pump to control arms are the only thing that were not changed, so it has to be something with them, right ? A blocked line...?
Any input greatly appreciated.
