Loader control valve

Hello all, I'm trying to fix a problem with my tractor that just happened today on my 1958 841 diesel. It has a Ford loader on it and all the sudden the only way you can get the bucket to lift is you have to have it full throttle and the bucket will lift real slow other than that it will tilt back and worth with no problem and it has down pressure and will lift the tractor off the ground. The oil is filled all the way to the top. I think something like a o ring or whatever they use in the valve went bad. Does anyone know if they sell a rebuild kit for the valve? I will try to include a few pictures of the valve as I cannot find a name on it. Thanks in advance.

Before tearing into it, I would swap the bucket and loader hoses at the valve and see if the issue moves to the bucket. If it stays with the lift the problem is in the lift cylinders. If it moves to the bucket it would be the valve.

You may have better luck replacing the whole valve with a new one than finding parts and repairing the valve you have now.

Thanks for your help. Hopefully in the
next couple of days I will have time to
swap the hoses around to see if it changes
at all.

Agree with Jim.. If problems persist with the move, would suspect weak pump, or something stuck in the relief valve somewhere letting the pressure drop... It takes much more pressure to lift the loader than tilt the bucket. Getting a fluid filled 3000 lb gauge for testing would prove the problem. 20 bucks plus or minus..

Ok it's been a busy few months and haven't used the tractor. I finally got around to swapping the hoses and I had the same results. So I pulled both lift cylinders off and took them to a hydraulic shop and they took them apart and said the internal seals where worn on one and shot on the other. So I'm having them reseal both and that should take care of my problem. I will report back once I get them back and installed.

(quoted from post at 17:34:12 11/21/19) Ok I got the cylinders back the other day and reinstalled them and all is back to normal.

That''s great, and thanks for letting the board know what the problem was.
