Injector questions..

OK guys

I came up with a newer web 268 block from a 7710 to use on the Frankenstein 5000 that i'm putting back together. I will be using the 5000 Simms pump, head and manifolds etc etc.. I'm wondering what injectors to use? We had to hammer #4 out of the head, so I be buying a new set..

Both 5000 and 7000 series use the same 150 degree spray angle tip, main difference would be needle valve lift and hole size. Will you be using a turbo?

Nope no turbo, The block and rotating assembly are for a turbo tho.. I don't think the SOS would take the extra HP.. The 5000 was an early version with a 233 it had porosity and coolant in to #4. I obtained this block for less then I could repair the original block..

I would get injectors for a 5610 myself.

I was thinking 5610 or 6610, did the 5610 have the Simms Pump?? Ive wondered about putting a rotary pump on this engine.. but a pump and lines isnt really in the budget..

Spec cards show early 5610 used the inline pump, and early type long spindle high spring injectors. Late use the DPS rotary pump with low spring body injectors.

Both models used both inline and rotary pumps, depending on the year. I prefer the inline myself because it's more rugged and has less "gizmos" inside to give trouble.
