3 Point Hydraulic stutter HELP!

I have a 1957 Ford 850 which has developed a stuttering problem when lifting an implement. I previously removed the lift cover, replaced O-rings, piston o-ring seal, cam follower pin and made adjustments according to the FO 20 manual. I did not disassemble any valves. Reinstalled and all was well. It smoothly lifted as it should. ( I was a happy camper as it was my first time working on the hydraulics and IT WORKED! ) I have been using it for about 4 hours of disc work. It has developed a stutter when it lifts. Excuse the terminology, best I can think of. Oil is good, no water and full. I would appreciate any suggestions in diagnosing/solving the problem. Thanks.

I would think a pressure gauge would come in handy in your situation. I would think it would lead you in a direction you need to go to resolve the issue. With a pressure gauge reading I am sure the folks that know this system well could lead you to the next step.

I have read you can install the gauge at the pump are the test port on the lift cover. I have never installed a gauge on a hundred series I should have but always was able to work around it... My bad cuzz I should have and its not hard to do and I have a gauge...

To add I am following...

I would use use GAUGE are TEST PORT as my search word under ford on modern view. Author JMOR

Thanks Hobo, followed your advice and did some reading of the archives and will be getting a pressure gauge to help diagnose the problem. It will be next week or longer before I am able to check it out. Thank you for your response, it is greatly appreciated.

Vibration upon lifting is most likely due to failure of one or more valves in the pump head.

This can be caused by broken springs, debris in the oil or just plain wear of the springs, valves, seats, etc.

A common cause of non functional valves is silicone or other gasket goop in the pump valves. If you have ever used gasket goop in place of a proper (and rather expensive) gasket for the relief valve cover (or lift cover) it will find its way into the pump valves. Check this first.
