ford 4000 power steering pump

This is normally not my area, so forgive me for asking what I am sure has been asked before. My friend has a 4000 diesel 4cyl with power
steering. The pump is the canister type with a filter in it. The steering is run by cylinders on each side. The tractor will steer when
cold, but when the fluid gets warm the power quits working. We know we need to test the pressure on the pump. It would seem the pump is
weak if it works with cold fluid but not warm. Not much to those pumps but a rotor and a pressure relief spring. At the New Holland
parts site it says they no longer carry these parts. Are they available? Are we on the right track?
Thanks from a guy borrowed from the Case site.

Larry, was there only one pump with the big lid and filter? We have an IT manual tractor model is 41202 and i think the serial is 32335, which says it should have a rotor type pump as opposed to the roller vane pump. it does not show a picture of the rotor type, but it does show the roller vane type with that reservoir on facing up. That is best I can tell you on the discription from the pictures and looking at the pump on the tractor.
