power steering cylinder won t grease

The bottom power steering cylinder on my 1991 Ford Versatile 846 won t take grease on the anchor near the back of the housing where the shuttle goes back and forth. I tried using the piece that screws onto where the greesezirk goes and tries to force grease through by hitting the pin into the small chamber of grease with a hammer (sorry, I don t know what it is called) and I tried forcing penetrating oil through it. Neither of those solutions worked. Then we tried removing the pin, but it was stuck. After trying to get it out for a day, we gave up. After another round of working the fields, the other bottom power steering cylinder started having the same problem, and it won t take grease. What should I do? What will happen if those points don t get greased?

Try replacing the zerk, as pinball suggested, and if it still won't take any grease try slowly heating the entire area with a low temperature torch. Sometimes old grease hardens inside and won't budge unless it's heated up.

Yes, I replaced the zirk. The tool I tried to force grease through it with screws onto where the grease zirk goes after it is removed. It is similar to the zirk zapper tool that is sold. I will try to heat it. I saw that other people had similar problems with power steering cylinders in other forums, but they didn t mention how they fixed the problem.
