9600 Clutch - The answer

(600 is finally on it's way to operation again. The clutch release fork was all twisted and sprung. I hope that's the only issue. It was all I could see just looking at it.

It must have become wedged somehow, keeping pressure on the throw out to make the clutch slip, but then let go so there was no feel of anything but free-play in the pedal.

Sorry! Not at the moment anyway. I was away by the time they got it split, so didn't see it until the old fork was out and the salvage fork in.

It may yet be possible to get pictures of the fork itself, but I'll have to find out.

I?d like to see pics too. Aren?t those forks cast?? I could see it breaking but not twisting. I?ve seen the bolt that holds them to the shaft break, and plenty of them worn but not twisted.
