1977 Ford 3600 Air Cleaner Question

I have a 77 Ford 3600 with a dry type air
cleaner. It has two elements, both in good
condition. The inside cover is missing (or
so it seems to me). The outside cover is
intact. I can't figure out if there should
be an inside and outside one, but it looks
like there should be. Any idea what part
number is the replacement? The opening
span for the inside cover is just over six
inches.

The wingnut holds the air filter in place, and the air filter has a big rubber seal to seal itself. The outer sheet metal cover is simply for "looks" and access to the actual filter assembly. Your not the guy who works for ewald??

Thanks for the info. What a relief. I saw the schematic before but was confused about item 12, couldn't tell if there was one or two covers.

Any idea what the part number for the
rubber seal is, or of it's included with
the air filter? Mine is there burs it's
looking rather old.

The seal is shown in your picture No. 2. It has rotted off the filter and is hanging on the rod. Check out a new filter and the problem will be obvious.
