Are the wiring harness the same on a Ford 4400 and a Ford 3000? I have one for a Ford 3000 lying around. The 4400 has a alternator but I have a spare generator from the 4500 lying around.

At the moment, the old wiring consists of power going to the starter, cable going from the coil to the battery and touching off the solenoid. Since the solenoid sticks, just tap it with something. I thought they would have been the same since is the 3 cylinder 0000 series (same wiring harness, coil, solenoid, etc.). This is a gas engine by the way

You use the diesel thermostart wire to
power the coil.
Just connect it to a different spade on
the switch.
The thermostart spade connector is a
big, honkin one. Replace it with a
"normal" size one that fits the spade on
the switch properly.
The start wire that goes to the solenoid
works on both gas/diesel.
Pretty easy.
