Ford 2000 3-cylinder diesel

I recently purchased what I think is a Ford 2000 tractor, per the decals on the hood. I have found numbers on the bell housing on the right side of the tractor behind the starter, but these numbers are not relevant to any serial number decoding method I have found. The numbers are in 3 lines as follows: D2000 7J15B A158027. This tractor is a 3 cylinder diesel. Any help is appreciated.

The A in the serial number (A15807) means the tractor was produced
in Antwerp Belgium. The 7J15B is a normal production date code
meaning 1967, September 15th day shift. Antwerp didn't use the
usual Ford model codes until later. Given the 2000 decal and D2000
stamping it's fair to assume that it's a 2000. I believe they were
making 2000s and 3000s at the time. Also the Antwerp serial numbers
don't correspond with the US (C prefix) serial numbers you see in
serial number charts on the Internet, but you know the production
date from the date code anyway.

Check the engine serial number stamped into the flat rail on the right hand side of the engine block down low, just above the oil pan. Not the large raised numbers higher up on the block, the small ones stamped into the metal. The letter at the beginning of the serial number will tell you what series the engien was made for:

pre-4/1/1968:
L - 2000
N - 3000
P - 4000
R - 5000

4/1/1968 & up:
B - 2xxx
C - 3xxx
D - 4xxx
E - 5xxx

I use "xxx" in the later ones because those letters hold true past the 1965-1975 thousand series up in to the x600 and xx10 series and beyond.

That's not the engine. That's the bell housing of the transmission. I was talking about where the big red oval is near the bottom of the picture below. This is a picture of a 4 cylinder 5000 engine, but the 3 cylinder engines have the engine serial number in the same place. It's on the flat spot facing out sideways.
