ford 5000 steering valve removal on late model

(quoted from post at 14:02:16 06/11/19) Question 1... on the ford 5000 late model power steering when removing upper shaft to replace the seals in valve body block that sits under steering wheel I have a problem getting upper shaft to come off. it may be rusted on ... my question is whether when they came out with newer replacement shaft was it a one piece unit (no longer available) with the valve block and worm gear ..... i heated it with torch but it did not come off.

Question 2..... is there a pin that holds the two shafts together located just above the valve block

Question 3 .... can the valve block be removed by tapping it over the worm gear or over the upper shaft without separating upper shaft from worm gear.? A BIG THANK YOU TO ANY HELP!!!!!!



UPDATE:

THANK GOD I got it separated ... rusted on bad .... shaft location where seal sits has some corrosion....any ideas on reconditioning besides fine emery cloth? Thank you..
