took 4000 ford gas ind to a shop always been exc----he started it and the timing gears came out of engine ---what did he do and where can I get the parts

3 cylinder or 4 cylinder 4000?

What do you mean by "timing gears came out of engine? Was the timing cover removed prior to this happening? did they merely "come off" or did they break?

As to what he did, only he could tell you that.
