Ford 800 Idle

I am purchasing a Ford 800, and noticed it stumbles when idling at slow speed setting. With throttle full down runs nice. Any ideas were to start trouble shooting? Carb? Distributer? Thanks

Insufficient information.

That said. always verify that the ignition system is spot on before looking to carburetion.

Thank you, is there a timing mark for distributor or just listen to engine? Do I need a timing light? Spark plugs and points should be straight forward.
This is my first tractor, so learning as I go.

Yes, there are timing marks on the flywheel visible through the inspection port on the right side of the engine, but your symptoms are not caused by ignition timing.

Inspect/replace plugs, points, wires first.

Contrary to the advice you've been given, I'd be checking the idle fuel adjustment on the carburetor before doing anything else.
