I was going through some old pictures a couple days ago. Ran across this one from 1980, which reminded me that later this summer will mark 40 years that I've been driving the Jubilee.

40 years ago, I was older than you. Now you're catching up! LOL
Glad to hear the old Jube is still earning it's keep.
I have two here that have ran and worked all winter as well. :)

AH back in the days when you could be proud of that pic... now days if the wrong person saw a kid doing that the sheriff department child well fair and numerous other agencys would be in touch.. I grew up scraping pens and freestalls on a jub when i was just able to straddle the hump and see over the steering wheel..

Gasp!

How unsafe!

How did you manage to survive to adulthood, FF?

Today, CPS would likely take you away from your parents.

Neat photo.

Memories. Started with on 1952 8N in 1966 about 52 years ago. My brother has that 8N and it's still running.

Hadn't thought of that, but you're right. At that time, the 7000 was only 5 years old, and the 4600 had only been here a month or so.
How about this - my newest tractor, the TW35, is older now than the Jubilee was in that picture.

And no child seats, and seldom using seat belts, and drinking from a garden hose, and... :)
I better not post the picture of me riding on the axle!

All 11 of my kids have been driving tractors, ATVs and my pickups around the woods and fields since they could reach the pedals.

They also know how to spend a night in the woods by themselves, skin an animal, start a fire, clean a rifle and saddle a horse.

And I make them help me do things like change starters, fix the washing machine, repair a broken pipe and install a new outlet.

CPS definitely would lock me up; but my kids won't be useless when they go out on their own and they won't need anybody else to take care of them.

BTW, that is an awesome picture and I hope you are still enjoying that tractor.

Start them young. This is a picture of my son in 1966 making tractor noises on my 51 8N.

Here is a picture of me giving my grandson a ride on the same tractor about 2002. He is now driving tanks at Fort Irwin in California.

This is the same tractor last fall getting ready for snow that never came.
