Ford 641 Workmaster - New Replacement Carb

Had to replace my old carb, the filled plug in the bottom started leaking on me.

I didn't get the part number of the carb as it is original but I did look up the rebuild kit that I got for a TSX765 carb which also fits many other TSX carbs.

I picked up a new replacement style carb for a TSX765. Once I got it bolted on I found out the banjo bolt from the old carb is too long as the threads do not go in as far on the carb. Amazon listing for the carb has no mention of this. I checked the old carb, tag says TSX680 on it.

So question is what is the difference between the TSX 680 and the TSX 765? Will it cause a running issue?

I cant find it now but one of the tractor places listed the replacement carb for TSX 765 as also being a replacement for TSX 680. I think it also stated you need the sediment bowl and banjo bolt with part number but I cant find that listing to see if they are different than what I currently have.

Mainly I am concerned I got a $90 new carb that is sized differently even though it states it fits 58-64 641 tractors.

Well I found the listing it was from steiner but no mention if the bolt is different looks like the bolt and the filter is all oem so guess I got a faulty carb that now I cant return as its been painted and installed already.

personally I think it will work fine. looks like you have to order that bolt or you could cut your bolt down and re-tap the threads. another alternative is add O-rings to your bolt to help seal it. just make sure they are for gas. I actually had a problem with mine sealing up and I added O-rings on both side and it sured that problem.

with alterations, be sure the holes in hollow bolt align with fuel groove in sediment bowl assy....otherwise, no flow.
