I've been trying to figure out why I'm
not getting spark so I have been
replacing electrical. I've replaced
distributor plugs and wires. I replaced
coil and the resistor. Still no spark it
turns over and has a strong battery.
There is one more small part I'm not
sure what it is and where to get one
I'll post a picture of it. If you know
what this is let me know and if it can
go out.

850 didn't come from factory with resistor. One added? Why? still 6v or changed to 12v?

Don't just throw parts at it, troubleshoot to find problem then replace only what's necessary. Do you own and know how to use a multi-meter? If so,someone will be along to walk you through tests.

It may be as simple as no contact thru the points, did you check across them when they are closed with a meter to see if you have continuity? Sometimes just running a folded over sand paper thru them cures that.Like someone else said, don't just throw parts at it,start at the switch and check for voltage from switch to coil, then from switch to dist.,then switch thru points by turning tractor over and watching for spark across them.Use the KISS method.Keep it simple stup#d.
