can anyone identify the year

Hello all, I bought a ford 755 backhoe and not sure if i understand the numbers as to the year of the machine.
tractor # C715997
model # FF41?S
unit #4A19b
engine #3M5A
I saw a formula on another site and I think it means
Jan 19th 1974 2nd shift
If anyone know and could help me figure this out, It would be greatly appreciated.

model # FF41?S - FF4 is actually a 755A which has some differences from the slightly earlier 755. The 755 was made from 1978-1983 and the 755A was made from 1984-1986.

unit #4A19b - This says that the tractor was assembled on January 19, 1984 during the day shift.

engine #3M5A - This says that the engine was assembled on December 5, 1983 dufing the midnight shift.

tractor # C715997 - This is an early 1984 serial number, spo that agrees with the Unit Number above.

thank you Sean, that was very helpful. the only thing that has me wondering is its not labeled 755A on the machine. it has the 755 sticker. how/where can I find info on the FF4 being a 755A. and again thanks for your detailed information and help.

Well, first off, the Unit Number says that the tractor was made in a year ending i a 4, and if you look at the parts site, you'll see that the 755 was only made from January 1978 through December 1983, and the 755A was made from January 1984 through December 1986.

(755) - 4 CYL TRACTOR LOADER BACKHOE (1/78-12/83)
(755A) - 4 CYL TRACTOR LOADER BACKHOE (1/84-12/86)

So yours couldn't be a plain 755 as that model wasn't made in a year ending in a 4. In addition, I have been putting together a reference document for Ford tractor model information based on information that I received from a number of sources, the primary one being a document shared with me from a person who got it from an ex-Ford tractor mechanic. It shows the following for the FFx model designators:

FF1 - 750 1975-1976
FF2 - 750 1976-1978
FF3 - 755 1978-1981
FF3 - 755 (Blue Power Special) 1981-1983
FF4 - 755A 1984-1987
