Ford 850 axle fluid problems

Last April i changed all my fluids on my 850..I used the 314 in everything. Trans, hydraulics, and rear end.. within a couple months i noticed a bad seal leak on rear axle seal..Now I have a horrible grinding noise from axle in 5th gear. Fluid is milky. I have no idea were any water came in. Stored in barn..If any has any ideas what to look for..Going to drain rearend and see what falls out and go to the correct gear lube. All other gears are fine.

Could be coincidence, or the fact the new oil level was back up to the correct level?

Could be some cleaning effect and loosening of the sludge?

Could be starting to use a tractor again, with some nearly worn out parts on it. Lots of my repairs are from long term use with low fluid levels..
