Folks, I'm just not getting my 64, 4000 SOS retirement project done, and cannot seem to find the motivation to start the next phase, which is rebuilding the DDC SOS. That said, I might be willing to farm the SOS overhaul out to someone willing and able to overhaul it PROPERLY. I'm near Cincinnati but know of no one nearby who would, let alone could, do this project. Accordingly, I may be willing to ship it back and forth if I can find the right person not too far away. This project is in no ways a money maker but rather a labor of love.

My SOS is a single speed PTO DDC unit. It is fully functional but shows symptoms of internal leakage(s), as it sometimes does not pull properly when fully up to temperature and with low engine speed.

I plan to install my very low hour converted NG (high compression) 192 engine into this tractor so the SOS needs to be up to snuff as the engine should produce 60+ PTO HP.

I've not split this tractor (yet) so have no idea what the input shaft and torque limiting clutch look like so this could be a problem. I do know that the OEM 172 gasoline engine has never been overhauled, runs great, uses no oil, but does have noticeable blow by. I was told by the PO that he used it on a small square baler. Such use is hard on input shafts.

Email is open for interested SOS gurus.

If you can afford to ship it to the west coast (Seattle area), I'll do it for you for very reasonable. I work on them for fun, not for profit.
