Ford 5000 blows gasket

I have a ford 5000 that blow out the gasket on the side hydraulic gear assembly pump when a pull out the selector knob. I seems that pressure is building the transmission case where the filters are. Can any one help with this?

DEPENDS on where it blew out... gasket? or at the oring between the top housing and tranny?

Pulling the selector out, dead headed the hydraulics to max pressure, and at 2175lbs the relief valve should start opening to keep it around that pressure and not blow the gasket or oring or what ever.

your description sounds like it blew where the hydraulic pump bolts to the side of the housing???? or where the hydraulic top cover bolts to the top of the housing? or where the selector valve bolts to the top of the housing just in front of the seat?

The gasket blow out from the side pump where it bolts on. It pushes the gasket out and throwing oil towards the rear axle.

Are the ports on the diverter valve simply plugged, or is there something attached? You shouldn't open that vale if the ports are plugged, as it will dead head the pump. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that valve may be upstream of the relief valve so opening it with the ports plugged might prevent the relief valve from helping.

Does the remote cylinder operate when you pull the knob out on the diverter valve? If not, did it ever as long as you've owned the tractor?

The valve was stuck. I had to remove the rock shaft cover and replace the broken shaft. I will have to take the rock shaft cover off again because I pull on the select knob it was suck and so I pull harder and it came out. The remote was working when I purchase the tractor but not the 3 pt. I got the 3 point working after replace the valve shaft but it would blow the gasket if I pull the knob out to fall. I replace the gasket twice. thank u for the helps !!!
