53 Jubilee Hydraulics Nightmare!!!

I recently acquired a Jubilee. The lift was working when I picked up the tractor but then would begin to not lift after about 30 minutes. I figured I would repair the lift cover and replace the safety pressure valve. I done all this and while I was in there noticed the back pressure valve stuck. I cleaned it up and seemed to work. I put it all back together and now nothing works. Lol. I have tried priming at the pump with no air present. I have fluid at the top casting hole with lift cover removed. I have tried blowing air through the dipstick. One thing i noticed is with the tractor running and acorn nut removed at the back pressure valve i can push in on it and the arms will raise only with no weight. There is also a seepage of oil coming out where the acorn nut is located. The one thing I did not do while in there (slap in the face) was replace the cam follower pin. Not sure how to do that. Please help me to figure this out. It is driving me crazy. Thanks in advance!!

Can the back pressure valve still be purchased and if so, what part number? I cannot find it anywhere on the internet and fear mine is shot. Thanks if anyone weighs in on this.

AA955-B. Do not expect to be available unless used. Why think bad?

I cleaned and freed up the valve while I
had it off the tractor. When I run the
tractor trying to move control lever for
lift arms they will not move but oil comes
from where the acorn nut is. It is a
pretty good stream. I can push in on the
valve and the lift arms will come up only
with no weight. This thing is driving me
crazy.

(quoted from post at 10:31:52 05/15/19) I cleaned it up good while I had it apart.
Any good way to test it?
ecently, a fellow reported that he had used a bent coat hangar to insert into the hole where the unloader lives (next to the control valve) and feel for movement when LIFT is commanded. It should be all the way in when unloading and push the wire back out when LIFTING.

(quoted from post at 10:56:57 05/15/19) I shall try that when I get in this
afternoon. So you think the oil coming
through the back pressure valve is ok?
ithout acorn nut installed to stop it, oil will come out.

That makes me feel much better. When I had
the unloader out the plunger would move
freely inside it. I guess it could be
stuck somehow. I guess I will try the coat
hanger trick then take this thing off for
the fifth time. Thank you so much for
helping me.

I tried the wire trick and the unloader
does not seem to move. Could it be the o
ring is not exactly right cause when I had
it out and cleaned it up it seemed to move
freely?

hey need to be free enough to need just a little more than gravity to make them move, if you are holding the unit vertically. If not too tight, then, other causes may be control spool not positioned properly for LIFT, leaks, back pressure too low.

(quoted from post at 11:48:32 05/17/19) What would be the correct positioning of
the control spool? Is this the part the
unloader rest in?
o, not part of unloader, but the main control attached to the linkage by the adjustable turn buckle. Control spool position is set by this turnbuckle and if not correct, fluid is not routed correctly for LIFT, HOLD, LOWER.

here is a youtube link on how to set it:

Thanks JMOR for your help. After much
frustration and installing and removing the
lift cover it finally works. I removed the
unloader and cleaned like crazy with Emery
cloth and used a pencil with it wrapped on
it to hone out the inside. It moved ok
before but with a little force. This time
I got it like you said holding vertical and
very slight pressure to cause it to move.
This site has been a tremendous help along
with JMOR. Once again, thanks.
