I have a ford 800 with a 5 speed in it. I am not real happy with how fast reverse and 1st gear are. Not sure if it is possible or not or where to find one, but is there a 2 speed that works with the 5 speed to be able to split gears into an underdrive? Any help is appreciated!!

not that I am aware of, the 4 speed had the option of a Sherman combo giving 12 forward gears and 3 reverse gears.

There was only one underdrive trans that I can recall that dropped ground speed plus kept the PTO running the correct speed. Not a Sherman
but cannot recall the name of it. Kind of a moot point anyway since installing one could not be cost effective. I certainly know what you
mean though about 1st and reverse being too fast. Ferguson TO35 was way ahead of Ford with the hi-low range. I had the same problem with my
Oliver HG crawler until I installed an aux. trans. I do not use the PTO in that so it was not an issue.

My 641 with a 4 speed at high throttle runs 3.6 MPH forward and 4.2 MPH in reverse. If I had a 5 speed it would be 2.2 MPH in 1st which is
still way too fast. My Ferguson TO35 runs 2 MPH in 1st in high range and 1.3 MPH in low range. I wish there was a way to make some of my
Fords to that. One way I guess is to get an English-designed Ford made 1965 and on with the dual-range trans.

Possibly the later Howard trans. Can?t say for sure it will work on a 5
speed cause I?ve never done it but good luck finding one cause
they?re rare
