Would like to know if the following part numbers are correct for the 860 They look the same as the parts in the included diagram
Axle support pin dual prong: NCA3127A Pin locking plate NCA3128A

parts 20 and 22 in the manual we have for the tractor

I have an 860 also. My pin is threaded with a hex head on it. This is shown as a heavy duty pin (312659) and shows it takes a heavy duty bushing (312661) . I'am having trouble finding it with YTC . I,am going to call them Monday to see what they say. Let you know, if I can get though, I started as 10 in the queue and hung up at 5 .

Diggerdon,
I am helping a friend with his 860. Threads are gone on his pin and locking plate is gone. Will take the front bolster and axle off the tractor. Clean the parts and take the bolster and axle to a machine shop. The pin and locking plate are available from ford new Holland. Bushing may have to be made in the machine shop

Search for a pin for an early 4000 front end. Same pin but easier to find. Bushings are available but very pricey. I made one on a lathe. Pins aren?t as bad and I think I got one here on this site.

As I do some time I gave you info on a heavy duty pin and bushing . The numbers are correct, but mine is a standard support pin and bushing. I can't find the pin like mine , but the YTC 2n3039 will work. My pin is in good shape as the attached pictures show. I also attached a couple of the old girl I have had for almost 40 years. I'am giving her a well deserved reconstruction . As I have broke almost everything at one time or another.

BigDanT,

Pictures of your tractor are for lack of better words, Beautiful. Great job, you obviously have superior knowledge and skill.
Question: My friends 860: I am helping him. I would like to know the following: May just weld the pin on both ends with axle in place.I know this is not best way to proceed however $$ big issue with hio m. I welded the pin on the outside 2 years ago and installed a PTO shaft for his pump. Shaft came from Ford New Holland and was a universal shaft
to fit
Will probably weld both ends of the pin this time. Used 7018 last time and weld just broke. Threads gone on inside of bolster and this is probably why weld broke as pin was bouncing around as threads are gone inside. What rod would you recommend: have a dc welder and maybe E6011 easier to use.
Chris

How about building up the inside of the rear bolster hole where the threads are missing with weld, then bore it smooth and re-tap the threads?

Sean,
That is an excellent idea. Told my friend that it would be best to have a machine shop proceed with type of work you suggested. My skill level is not adequate for such work. Had
work like you suggested completed on the swing table on my 1957 case backhoe. Machinist built up area where large bushing goes. He then bored it out with special tools used dry ice, hydraulic press, and a 16 lb hammer to install new bushing.

Much smaller job on the bolster and it is something my friend wants to consider

Thanks, Chris

Diggerdon,

Is the bolster on a 860 ford made of formed steel? Looked at one of the pictures You sent me and looks like bottom piece of the bolster is welded to the other two pieces.
