Aspirated Muffler To Non-aspirated Straight Pipe

The muffler on my TW35 gave up the ghost yesterday. Aftermarket muffler is $200.00. I can get a chrome stack for about half that. My muffler is aspirated and the straight stack will not be. Any opinions as to what might happen. Only dusty conditions this tractor runs in is pulling a grain cart in the fall. Thanks

ou will need $6,000 hearing aids soon!

My 8240 had one of those under the hood that rusted out. I replaced it with a generic one from one of the mail order places. That aspirator is a good thing for reducing the frequency of pre-cleaner emptying under heavy dust conditions, but I doubt that you will get much in there pulling a grain cart. Don't worry about the noise. As you probably know a turbo does a good job of quieting the exhaust. I put a straight pipe on my 9000 sometimes and I have never noticed a difference between that and the muffler.

he older I get, the quieter my tractors get!

Many.........many, years ago I was at a muffler shop getting some "dual Smitty glass packs" installed on my car......while waiting, the owner was standing
in the door and I mosey'd over to him and chatted. In short, an older guy...pushing senior citizen status......said that his personal vehicle was as quiet as
the day it was built...........moving on down the road...made good sense. Wink!
