Ok I am new here guys so be kind. I have a Ford 601 that I am trying to get running correctly. I can get it to run but if I go beyond just an idle it automatically bogs down. When I return to an idle it will maintain that bogged down sound. I have adjusted the carb to the factory recommended settings an haven't deviated from them much at all. I have cleaned the carb. out, changed the points, rotor button, condenser, coil, plugs and distributor cap. I have even checked the timing to make sure it was correct. Everything says that this engine should run correctly. My plan is to check the compression on the cylinders this afternoon. One thing that I have noticed is that I have a good spark coming from the coil, but when I take a spark plug and check for a spark, it is very weak if I see one at all. Can y'all think of anything that I am missing that may be cause the engine to run so roughly?
