Ford 661 with Gnuse bucket

Hey, new to Yesterday's tractors. I
recently purchased a 661 but havent got
much time to use it yet. We have a few
things such as a plow and trip bucket for
grandpas 8n, but I'm looking for a
shredder, sickle bar and sprayer for it.

My curiosity got the best of me today when
I hitched the 661 to our L90 Gnuse bucked
to see if it could lift it. Normally we
use this on a 145 horse tractor, sometimes
on a 100 hp tractor. The bucket is very
big and quite heavy

Not only did it lift the bucket, I
actually used it a bit. While the bucket
is way too big for the tractor, it gives
me the confidence that the 661 will handle
a more appropriate sized "Gnuse" bucket.

Before that can happen I need to build an
auxiliary hydraulic system for dumping the
bucket and running other hydraulic
circuits.

On a side note, I want the wheel track as
close to 5' as possible. So after reading
the operators manual, I learned how to
adjust the wheels. Found out my right
break needs some work! Ended up spinning
the rim out 2 inches and removing the 4"
axle extension allowing the wheel to sit
closer to the fender bracket like the 8n
is. I like the looks better but because a
storm was close I didnt get a picture to
share.

If the axle flange bolts were longer I
could put the extensions on the outside of
the rims and have "axle mount dual hubs"
on my little 661! I'm having too much fun!

661 is a nice tractor. That Gnuse bucket must make the front a little light and steer easy lol. The wheel extenders are not used to mount dual wheels. There are different spacers used to mount dual wheels along with wheel stud extenders similar to the ones used with pie weights. Enjoy that 661, they are a very nice sized tractor to have around.

Welcome to the site! There is a GREAT bunch of guys here (& some curmudgeons!<) & a wealth of info & experience!
As to your auxiliary hydraulic needs, add on single & double valves are available that bolt to the top right in front of the seat mount & use the existing system.

Thank You Lynn! This will be my go-to for
help! After reading through threads from
others, I can see a pretty good group
here. Not many threads left untouched,
good attention to detail!

Far as the auxiliary hydraulics, I would
like to have triple remotes, so my plan is
to purchase the HV5902, and then a SAE 6
triple spool valve with one of the spools
having a float detent. I'm going to make
as many of the lines from steel tubing
with JIC flare fittings as possible. But
I'll try and maybe start another thread on
that?

Thank you for the warm Welcome!

It is! On a bigger tractor tho! I put this
on just to test the 3pt lift ability!

Plan to build one sized better to mach the
tractor once I get my hydraulics in order.

It steers so nice! It's like having power steering! Power steering is on my list, but far from the top! Ok, I will just tuck the wheel extensions away in my recently started parts collection. At first I wished the reactor came with the dish style wheels and rims, but once I got one side adjusted and bolted up, I dont mind them so much.

I am loving it and haven't really got to use it yet! It drives so nice, starts up right away, the tin is in really good shape and everythingworks for the most part. Grandpa has a few 8n's, but they sure aren't what this thing is. He was really wanting me to buy a Jubilee, but I thought this better suited for my needs anyway. He really likes it!! So that's a win for me!

Thank you!
