1994 Ford 2120 4x4 Wet clutch issues

Hoping to get a bit of help on this one.

Tractor has been great through the 6 years I have owned it, needing only basic maint. in that time.

Recently, the tractor started slipping. More so in reverse to begin with. It was better when I was in lower range gears. Also better when cold. Once warmed up, it got worse.

Figured that it was the clutch, and split the tractor.
Replaced the dry clutch, which was definitely worn, and put it back together.

The problem is still there.

Brought it to our local well respected shop for them to diagnose.

They believe it to be the wet clutch, which is a double split of the tractor.

The problem is this: They are saying that parts are VERY limited at this point, and that even getting a seal kit is problematic.

I have a full curtis cab on the tractor, so doing the split is more involved than usual.

So my questions are these:
a. Does anyone have a good source for getting the necessary parts to complete this job?
b. Is it worth taking the $ gamble to open it up (lets call it $1000) only to find that the parts needed to fix it are not available.
c. Should I take the money that salvage is willing to give me for it ($4000), and the clutch job money ($3500) and put that towards a new or newer tractor, knowing that future issues will also put me up against availability issues.

I believe that my model has the ESS transmission.

Looking for some good perspectives on how to proceed.

Thanks for the help and insights!

The fact that it slips worse when hot than cold tells me it's most likely a pressure issue. Myself, I'd make
sure the pressures are within spec when the oil is hot. If it's not, it could be as simple as a regulating
valve or pump issue.

I forgot to mention that they found material in the fluid.
Also, after replacing the dry clutch, we tested the forward and reverse valves by switching them. Both functioned the same way so was not in those valves at least.

If there's clutch plate material in the oil, then I guess it has to be opened up. I do not have a parts source for you. That said, if it was mine and I needed clutch plates that I couldn't get from NH, I'd go to a major supplier of automatic transmission parts and show them what you have. They might be able to match something up from a Japanese car or truck.
