901 Salvage

I have been taking parts off of a 971 that I purchased. I've gotten what I needed from it. The engine was blown and the transmission is suspect . I hate to see original parts go to the scrap yard that others could use. I've gotten most of the sheet metal off which is in fairly good shape and is available. If someone is looking for something, contact me and I'll let you know if it's on this tractor. I live in north central Nebraska, so we can work out getting it to you, I know sometimes shipping is costly.

Be sure to save the cables if nothing else! I have spares for mine but they are hard to get.

Power steering parts?

Would it happen to have the diesel engine in it? How blown is blown?

Tom

It is a diesel and the PO says the rings were shot and a couple of pistons were 'scorched.' He said the block isn't cracked. Starter and generator have been taken off, but are available. Fuel pump is gone.

Hi Texfordfan,

I might be interested in what is left of the tractor when your done with it. Send me an email if interested (Send Email link bottom right corner).

How much do you want for the entire engine assembly and where are you located? Thanks.

Tom

If it's a diesel, and the cam is good, you can not buy a replacement anywhere PERIOD!!! GAS only! It's the most valuable part you have there! If it grindable, they get $140.00-200.00 plus shipping for them. Ask me how I know. I looked better part of 6 months for a new one. The do NOT make them, or re-grind them, unless you send them your "re-grindable" core! They will tell you if it is.

So think twice before just unloading your diesel engine. It's worth a lot, to the person needing the cam, to fix his engine.

I may be interested in some of the tranny parts and possibly the power steering pump if they are still available. I live in east central Nebraska so we might not be too far from each other. Please email me and we can maybe exchange phone numbers. Thanks GregNE

I'd be interested in the hood if it's straight. The PO of my 951 mounted a small handle on it for easier opening by drilling 2 small holes in the hood. Was going to weld them closed and finish it but if yours is in good shape, that would be a whole lot easier for me.

Texfordfan, I would be interested in the swinging drawbar parts if you have them. The lower mounting bracket, the bracket around the PTO, and the drawbar itself. Thanks!

Okay everyone, I will try to keep up with your requests for information. The problem will be that I won't be able to check on them until Saturday. Normally, the tractor is only a few miles away; but we lost three bridges in the floods and now I have to travel 70 miles to get to it so I have to do it on my off day. Please be patient and I'll get back to you. I don't want to promise you something that isn't there.

Sounds like you are by the Niobrara river. I live between the Loup and the Platte
rivers so I know what you are dealing with. We still have a few bridges out down
here too but it's not as bad as what you're dealing with. Hope you didn't have any
losses from the flooding. GregNE

. The drawbar is missing but the two brackets are there. If you'd send me your phone # I can send the pictures I took to your iPhone, if not send me your email and I'll send them that way.
