Gentlemen, got a 1959 Ford 961 Diesel. My hydraulics suck. Bought a Lift Cover Gasket/O-ring kit from YT.
The area of interest is:
Specifically, Ford Shop Manual page 389, 3. Lift Cover, B. Disassembly, Paragraph 3
Or, FO-20, page 126, Paragraph 313
Here are my questions: Since I do not have "Remover and Replacer NCA-997" to remove the check valve seat, can I get some ideas on how to remove this item? All thread with thick washers and a nut to press it out? Anybody know the thread pitch and diameter of the hole in the check valve seat? Is it even worth the effort to take this out to replace one O-ring?
Basically, if you have removed your check valve seat, what method did you use and was it successful.
So far, the parts I have removed look fine but the check valve itself has wear marks from the check valve spring.
Thank you for your time.
