5600 oil line purpose

What is this oil line for? It is on a 1977 5600. No Dual Power.

I have notice 5000/7000 tractors don't have this line. I've also noted this line goes to a cooler in front of the radiator on some bigger models like the 6600 and 7600. Was this a change from the older models (5000/7000) to the newer models (6600/7600) to cool oil in the transmission and rear ends?

5000 & 7000 tractors with Dual Power had it, and after that, forced transmission lubrication and cooling became standard on the '75 up tractors (e.g. x600 & x700 series) regardless of whether or not it had Dual Power.

Your tractor is missing the cooler lines, looks like someone took them off. If you look at the drawing, #11 and 11A are what screw into the side of your trans housing. Cooler #1A sits in front of the radiator.

Not sure if you can read note in picture. Seems the 5600 without dual power did NOT have an oil cooler. The oil just feed back to the transmission.
