New Ford 7000 Owner - 3 Point Lift Issue

I bought my first tractor over the weekend. Its a 7200 with dual power. I am having some difficulty with the 3pt. When I test drove it, it had a disc mower hooked up to it and lifted it fine so I didnt consider looking at it any closer. Now I have it home and have the following behavior in the 3 modes (Draft/Position/Load Monitor). All of this is with small 3 point plow attached.

Draft Mode - Lifts all the way up, goes down less than a foot.

Position Mode - Lifts most of the way up (not as high as draft mode), and lowers a bit further than Draft Mode

Load Monitor Mode - Lowers the furthest of all modes, but not deep enough to properly set the plow in the ground. Raises only a few inches from its low point.

I understand I need to use Position mode when wanting to control the 3pt. strictly with the lever. Is there any adjustment to allow the arms to drop lower and raise higher when in this mode?

Thanks.

Forget about Load Moniter, have to have special cyl and usues its own coupler set. Position will be your most used mode.

jrv97240,
I believe I know what your problem is.
Because of the load monitor, there is a valve that diverts oil into that system. It is called the ASC valve.
There is a lever on the right hand side of the platform towards the back that hooks to the valve under the platform.
To use the 3 ph without Load monitor, that valve needs to be pushed in.

Mine was always tight so I would have to put one hand on the valve under the platform and use my other hand above the platform to get the valve to move.
When you use the special Load monitor cyl in conjunction with the 3 ph, you use that valve to sync the two. The procedure is in the operators manual.

Post back if that is not it, maybe someone else has another idea.

I think I found the issue. I noticed when i crawled under there and moved the 3pt lever that the linkage attached to it was not moving. Looking at the parts diagram there should be a woodruff key between the lever and the linkage that goes down to the control valve. When i get a little more time than i had tonight I will get it apart and check if the key is missing or sheared off.
