I thought the day would never come, but I'm going to sell my '52 8n. I bought an 841 several months ago and just don't need two tractors. The 8N has sat for quite a while. I tried to start it a few days ago. It turned over really strong but would not fire off. Today, I shot some stater fluid into the carb's air intake and, after a while, it fired up. But it sounded like it was running on three cylinders. I found the number one plug and PART of the spark plug sitting on top of the engine.
Anyone ever extract a broken spark plug out of an 8N? Do I need to pull the hood (and gas tank?) I hate to have to do that. I've got it soaking in penetrating oil, as well as the other three plugs. I hope they come out easier. Any tips are appreciated.
