641 Aftermarket gas tank

My tractor had a new aftermarket gas tank installed when I bought it. The fuel shutoff valve was leaking and the head of the brass screw was badly damaged so I decided to replace the valve. The gas tank hole for the shutoff valve is threaded and is too small for the filter screen to fit. Just curious how people deal with this, remove the screen? Drill the hole out larger? Install a different valve that threads in instead of bolting on? Thanks for any advice.

Some of the newer aftermarket tanks come with two plus, one in the middle and one toward the back so it could be use for the NAA. the 600/601 valves always seem to
leak after a while. Had some leak right out of box. They seem to be not made very well. Maybe it's turning them off and on all the time. They never seem to last more
than a couple of years before they start leaking again so I leave mine on,reroute the line around the front of the engine cause I never liked fords idea of running
the line thru the manifold, and add a shut off valve downstream. It's easier access to turn in on and off too. The NAA tank used the same sediment bowl shut off valve
as the 8n which are less likely to leak and easier to change when they do.
