Yellow Ford Tractor

I have a 1981 Ford 3600 and found another tractor for sale. The hood part looks very similar to mine, can anyone identify what model and year this hood as well as the color schemes could be? I will be stopping by next week to take a look at it. There's not really any other photos that would help identify (still waiting for more photos). This is a good start place:

since we cant see the whole hood,,, and exhaust hole, we cant tell if 4 cyl or 3 cyl.. The lighter industrial color makes me think 66 to 85 ish..industrial, utility, or su model,,

Thanks guys. I was looking for the front end for my 3600 Narrow Orchard so it should fit. He’s parting that out for $500 or OBO saying that the damper in the muffler, so water entered the engine. I am doing my first 9N restoration project and I don’t mind doing another project tractor with this one. Your thoughts on the water in engine? How hard is it to restore that? Regardless, for less than $500 I get the tractor plus the front end and back scrapper.

I am doing a major parts swap on a 1978 Ford 3600 and adding the loader and a lot of parts from a 1969 Ford 3500 that looks just like your picture. It should make a good loader tractor for me so this one should for you too. Good luck

No louvers in the hood makes it at least a 1968.

There is no good photo of where the serial numbers would be for the 3500 or 3550. Can someone help me out please? Thank you.

There's no listing for 3500 or 3550 on TractorData.com

Model number, Serial Number and Unit Number are in the same place as on any other post-1965 3 cylinder Ford tractor, on the flat spot on the bell housing just above and rearward from the starter, above the large bolt holes. On a loader tractor the numbers are hard to see because the loader frame usually obstructs your view. Also check the under side of the right side hood panel, above the battery to see if the foil sticker might be there. If it is, that foil sticker also has the same numbers plus a few more.

Tractordata only lists Ag tractors on their main page. They used to have a link to the industrial models form their main page but it is no longer there. The 3500 and 3550 are the early and late Industrial models in the 3000 series made from 1965-1975. The engine information on the 3000 would be the same. The 3500 and 3550 might have a manual reversing or power reversing transmission that was not available on the 3000, so the trans info on the 3000 might not be correct if it has one of those. The 3500 had the same rear axle as the 3000, but the 3550 has the heavier duty double reduction rear axle from the 4000 series. They both had the heavy duty front axle of the 4400 Utility model from the 4000 series, which isn't quite as strong and heavy duty as the front axle on the 4500, which is the Industrial model in the 4000 series.

Link is still there, just different
On the home page click on Ford
On the next page where it says:
Also Ford Lawn tractors, Industrial tractors, Skid-steer loaders
Click on Industrial tractors and it will bring them up
