What Oil In A Ford 6000 Hydraulics

Can I use a Universal Hydraulic oil in the hydraulics of a Ford 6000? Helping a Guy getting a Ford 6000 going! No oil showing on the dip-stick.

You may if it meets or exceeds the specs required by the system. In today's terms that would be NH M2C-134 - D.

Yes...almost ANY universal TRACTOR rated hydraulic fluid that you can buy will meet or exceed the original specs for that pre /1976 ford tractor.

134D far far far exceeds those specs in performance and and far far far exceeds in price.

134d is simi/full synthetic for the newer super high pressure tractors, that have super high temperatures. Plus the "D" spec is several generations of more improvements in base and additive packages for the new automatics, hydro shifts, and high flows. All of which are not needed in your tractor.

Your power steering can also use almost any automatic transmission fluid out there as well as power steering fluid for automobiles.
