Cant think of what model tractor this would make

Getting ready to do a motor swap. Going to swap the motor from the 4500. What model tractor would this make? 3 cylinder 4000 engine with a 3000 transmission and rear end. I’m guessing the 3000 motor on the 4500 transmission and rear end would make that tractor a beefed 3500.

The front bolster and axle would tell which real model either will be closest to.

A 3 cylinder 4000 engine with a 3000 transmission and rear end would be closest to the 4110 LCG model in the 4000 series if it has the 3000 front axle, but yours won't have the shorter front spindles. If it has the 4500 front axle then there was nothing made that had that combination of front and rear axles that I am aware of.

A 3000 motor on the 4500 transmission and rear end with the 3000 front axle would be a 4000SU, and with the 4500 front axle it would be unique, as there was no model with that combination of front and rear axles either. The 3500 had the 3000 style rear axle and the 3550 had the 4000 style, so I would call it a beefed up 3550 rather than a beefed up 3500.

The diesel engine was 201 ci for all years of production of the 3 cylinder 4000 series, but the gasoline engine was 192 ci from 1/1/65-3-31-68, and then they upped the gasser to a 201. The advertised hp was higher for both at that point, but I think that all they might have done to the diesel was turn up the pump a little.

Take everything on tractordata.com with a grain of sale. Since the 4110 wasn't made until 1968 it was first advertised with the higher hp. Since the 3 cylinder 4000 was first made in 65 it was first advertised with the lower hp and that is what tractordata has listed for it.

How about if I put a turboed 401 on a 5000 transmission and rear end and put a 6000 nose and sheet metal on it?

In mid 68 to increase hp in the 201 diesel, a new cylinder head with modified porting was introduced along with a new high lift cam, inj pump, and injectors.
Heavier I-section rods and a new air cleaner where also added.
Gas engine was changed from 192 ci to 201 and also received improvements to the head, cam, pistons and rods.

The pto on 3000 and 4000 trans are driven thru the same gears and shafts, so the 4000 engine will produce the same pto hp with ether trans, same with the 3000 engine.

4000SU uses the same front axle and steering as a 3000 along with 28" rear tires but still has the larger 4000 engine.
