Injector pump question

Have 4600 3 cyl diesel ..the injector pump is leaking while running , not a stream but a pretty good drip. Can i just loosen the connections and take it off to get serviced? Do i have anything to worry about messing up when pulling it off? Any other advice about the pump and getting it serviced? Thanks in advance

A good wrench can lift the top off and replace the shaft o-rings if that's where it's leaking, which is the usual spot. No need to pull the pump for that.

While the top cover can be removed, both stop and throttle shafts re-sealed with pump on engine I don't recommend it. I've been burned too many times with other leaks that show up soon after. Best reseal the complete pump and be done with it. Drive shaft seals, head O ring are common leaks too that pump needs pulled for anyway. Just my thoughts on forty plus years and counting of injection pump repair..
