FORD 4630 Control Hydraulics Leaking

I will be looking at a 4630 New Holland hydraulic system, client says the control valves need to be rebuilt...leaking...

I'm hoping I can field-remove the valve assembly and do the work on my shop bench, but would appreciate a heads-up on what this job entails:

1. Removal and spillage management..plugging the lines etc.
2. Locating rebuild parts...Ford? Valve manufacturer?
3. Is it worth rebuilding or has anyone found it to be more practical to just replace the entire valve body?

Depends on whats leaking and where.
If it's leaking where the hoses connect to the remotes it's as simple as replacing the o-ring in each connection.
Remove the dust cover, pick the old o-ring out and install a new one.
Their special o-rings, I got mine at my local NH dealer, if the dust boot is worn I'd replace it too.

Took a look, it's the entire rear valve body...looks like multiple leakage issues, second pic shows leakage from the top fitting, and the rest of the valve is soaked.

Looks like a job of getting all the seals etc on hand, yanking the valve off, replacing seals and remounting.

Any other hints while the unit is off? I would think looking over the spools for scoring etc....Any gaskets or other springy parts to replace in there? I do have the parts diagram, but talking the job is helpful.

Keep it simple and replace the leaky o-rings in that banjo fitting first.
Oil leaking from there will leak down over everything.
Then give it a good cleaning, hard to tell if there's any other leaks as oil soaked as it is

Have o-rings for top fittings coming from dealer....what a PIA.

I also need to rebuild the hose female quick-connector which is leaking badly. Dealer says has a repair kit $120 each. Why did I not jump on that great deal?

So you mentioned just pull that assembly out and replace o-rings...dealer says tricky, not easy, I say lemme try?

You mentioned o-rings for this in NH, more detail? Special...ok.
Only in the $120 kit or how to get separate? My dealer didn't admit to getting just o-rings for that.

thanks.

Tell the dealer you need o-ring #9861431 $8 each
One in each outlet so you need 4
Also you should replace the 2 missing dust boots # E1NND954AB "$16 each" to keep dust and trash out of the valves

Looking at the photo you can see the white o-ring inside the valves just behind the locking balls.
Use a small screw driver or knife point the dig the old seals out, then work the new ones in by hand.
Simply replacing those white o-rings stopped the leaking couplers on my 6610 and neighbors 5030.

That's way easier than I thought, expecting removal of the cartridge, etc.

Much obliged.

The owner also reports fluid squirting out the side plugs, so I'm replacing those as well as the top o-rings. I couldn't duplicate that
squirting, but I will redo those.
